AMIT stands for "Americans for Israel and Torah." Founded in 1925, AMIT has a
proud history of service to Israel and the Jewish people. AMIT in Hebrew is an
acronym for "Irgun Mitnadvot l'ma'an Yisrael v'Torata" (Organization of
Volunteers for Israel and her Torah).
AMIT provides care and education to 14,000 children in AMIT schools and
projects throughout Israel, primarily to underprivileged youngsters and
children at risk.
